Reflection 1

The meeting went very well; Mohammed Al Zaabi suggested car accidents in the UAE. At the beginning we were agreeing with Mohammed because this problem exists in the UAE, but we were different in the opinions. The chairman, Anwar   did well in the meeting by talking about the problem and he highlighted some important points for it. I was the participant, and I tried to help my group in organizing the meeting.
In the end I learnt from the meeting some skills about conversations and how to fix and solve the problem.

LSEC N100                  Meeting Assessment             Section: CEK
CAR ACCIDENT

MINUTES
DATE: 7/3/2011
VENUE: W007

GROUP MEMBERS
CHAIR: ANWAR MATAR ALALI
MINUTES TAKER: MOHAMED AHMED ALZAABI
PARTICIPANTS: HUSSAIN AHMED

Agenda:
  1. Analyze the problem and state its importance.
  2. Radar
  3. Education programs.
  4. Gaps between cars.
  5. Strict rules.
  6. Confiscate vehicles/licenses/more black points/heavier fines.

Objectives:
The chairman opened the meeting at 1635.
1 .Anwar said that we have to analyze the problem and state its importance. Hussein and Mohamed agreed on what Anwar said in order to keep the things in control. We also consider that the number of the fines and deaths will be reduced. Also our country will achieve the goal of being a safe place to live.
2. Hussein recommended increasing the number of radars at the roads so that people will obey the rules and life will go smoothly. Both Mohamed and Anwar agreed but they said that it is not a way that drivers would recommend because the rate of fines has been increased a lot.
3. We all agreed about having education programmes in order to teahc people more about the safety awareness. For example Emirates Driving Company had announced on the radio about having some extra courses for the drivers and assisting them to reach their destinations safely.
4. Hussein and Anwar started discussing the idea of keeping a distance between two vehicles in order to be ready in case of any emergency.  Additional to that, if the tire has punctured the driver could control the car and avoid car accidents.
5. We all agreed about putting strict rules and make sure that people should follow the rules and punish the reckless drivers so that nobody will try to cross the limit and create chaos .
6. Mohamed insisted that we should confiscate the vehicles which break the laws and try to disturb the other drivers and their licenses should be confiscated as well; however black points should be added. That will make our life easier and safe.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, we think that the points what we mentioned above will reduce the number of car accidents and make the life easier in the UAE. We also believed that rules should not be broken and the people have the right to live in peace and drive everywhere without harming any other drivers and the children. The UAE is one of the countries trying to approach their goals in an environmentally friendly.
